Je ne suis pas européen, je suis français!
Yes, I know, taking the piss out of the French's tendency to be
"slightly" nationalist isnt fair, but believe me this is quite fun!
Because yeah, we all know, they have always been, and always will be, very
proud of their nation, so proud that if by mistake you go visit their country
and speak english they will very elegantly refuse to talk to you. And some of
us probably recall what happened last summer at the European Parliament when
one of the french ministers addressed the audience in english: Chirac stood up
and addressed the poor soul with a "You are french! speak french!" (not, it's
not a long joke, he indeed said it in french :) ), or something like that, but
you got the picture.
So, where am I heading? Hold tight, the french government has infiltrated a spy
inside Netgear!
Last night I went to help a friend of mine setting up his
wifi connection, he bought a NETGEAR WGTB111T-100UKS and couldnt get it to work.
The first thing I did, being windows, was sticking in the install CD
and going through the installation process. After a few
clicks I got to the usual localization screen, and there I uncovered the french
secret agent!

In reality France has got its own custom wifi regulations, which conflict with the rest of Europe, thus the extra item in the drop-down list. Still, how curious it's them and nobody else.
